Jared Smith

Jared Smith joined KWS as a guitar teacher in August 2010. Originally from Houston, Jared and his family have called La Grange home for 3 years. At his young age, Jared is already an accomplished guitar player as well as a singer. He received the “singing genes” from his dad, an accomplished singer as well as the Pastor at First Baptist Church in La Grange, TX. He enjoys a wide range of musical genres including: Metal, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Funk, and Hip Hop. John Mayer, Jack White, John Lee Hopkins, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Edge and B.B. King are a few of the guitar players that have influenced Jared's playing style through the years. You name it; Jared has probably played it. Jared's commitment to guitar and his ability to be patient with new students has proven successful at teaching the beginner guitarist. Jared recognizes KWS for helping him become the musician he is today, stating that “Ken has been an incredible influence on my life musically and otherwise. He has made me the guitar player I am today and has been a great friend along the way.”
